Day 01: NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra to Darjeeling Transfer via Mirik
Pick up from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra transfer to Darjeeling via Mirik, where you can enjoy boating in Mirik Lake (4,900 ft.) Mirik is famous for its man-made Sumendu Lake, Orange plantations and Tea Estates. 6 KM before entering Mirik you can have a spectacular view of tea gardens from Tingling View Point. And at 17KM from Mirik on the way to Darjeeling can go for marketing foreign stuffs from Pasupati Market in Nepal (Extra vehicle charges will be applicable for Nepal Border to Pasupati Market). Day 02: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Darjeeling (6,700 ft) is a town in India's state of West Bengal, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resorts for the British people before 1947, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (a UNESCO World Heritage) or “Toy Train”.
It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks. Early Morning (at 04:00 am) drive to Tiger hill (Tiger Hill is located in Darjeeling, in the Indian State of West Bengal, and is the summit of Ghoom, the highest railway station in the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway – a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchenjunga (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop.
After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Himalayan Zoological Park (Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is a 67.56-acre zoo in the town of Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal. The zoo was opened in 1958, and an average elevation of 7,000 feet, is the largest high altitude zoo in India), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 03: Darjeeling to Gangtok with Gangtok Sightseeing
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Gangtok. Gangtok (5,410 ft) is the capital of the northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy After British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Gangtok nestled within higher peaks of the Himalaya and enjoying a year-round mild temperate climate. The precise meaning of the name Gangtok is unclear, though the most popular meaning is "hill top". Today, Gangtok is a centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture and learning, with the presence of several monasteries, religious educational institutions, and centre for Tibetology.
After refreshment we start Gangtok sightseeing. Covering as many of the following Banzakhri Falls, cottage industry & Handicraft Centre, Flower show, Dro-dul Chorten & Institute of Tibetology, Rumtek Monestry (Rumtek Monastery, also called the Dharmachakra Centre, is a gompa located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok), Hanuman tok (Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex which is located in the upper reaches of Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim. It may contain specialist plant), Shanti & Tashi view point & Ganesh Tok then back to hotel Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 04: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Tour (90KM, 2Points, 7-8Hrs)
After breakfast go for full day excursion to Tsongo Lake & Baba Mandir Tsomgo (Changu) lake: The Tsomgo Lake in Sikkim is a holy lake worshipped by the sikkimese. Tsomgo (Changu) lake, which is hardly 20 km away from the famous Nathula Pass and about 400 km from Lhasa. It’s cool, placid water harmonies with the picturesque beauty around, which is increased by its reflection in the lake. A small temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside. Primula flowers and other alpine plantation grow around the Tsomgo lake Sikkim, which has an average depth of 50 ft, provides a pristine beauty to this place. During the winter months the Tsomo Lake becomes frozen.
Baba Mandir: Baba Mandir is a distinguished sightseeing place of Sikkim. CAPTAIN "Baba" Harbhajan Singh (August 3, 1941 – October 4, 1968) was an Indian army officer who died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim, India. He is revered by the soldiers of the Indian army, who have built a shrine in his honor. Baba is reported to have granted favors to the soldiers, and guard each one in the inhospitable terrain. A shrine was built at his samādhi, at an elevation of around 4,000 meters (13,123 ft). According to army folklore, Baba is a stickler for discipline and is known to admonish those who do not tow this line. Two shrines have been built to show reverence to Baba Harbhajan Singh. The old one has been built at the site of the bunker, where Baba Harbhajan was posted during his tenure in the Indian Army. The new one has been built at close proximity from Changu Lake. The evening free for stroll around MG Marg, the main street of Gangtok town is a great place to chill out. The country’s first litter and spit free zone, no vehicular traffic is allowed into the marg. You can sit at the Titanic Park or at the various benches stretched across the mall and take in the carnival like atmosphere, especially during the tourist season. The Mall is lined with shops on both sides of the road so shopping becomes an added pleasure.
Day 05: Gangtok to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Drop
After breakfast Check-out from hotel on time and take the departure transfers to NJP or Bagdogra for your onward journey. TOUR ENDS.
