ISKCON Temple Siliguri

Shri Shri Radha Madhav Sundar Mandir, built by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), is probably the most frequently visited religious spots nearby Siliguri. Both locals and outsiders are very much fond of visiting the temple complex again and again. Siliguri ISKCON Temple is actually the biggest Krishna centre in Northeast region of India.

ISKCON is a spiritual institution, working on and following the path of Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu in Indian mythology. It was established on 1966 by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and he used to personally direct the institute until his departure in 1977. The nearest airport from ISKCON Temple is about 16 km via NH10 and NH27, which is at Bagdogra town, while the nearest major railway station is in New Jalpaiguri at a distance of 10 km via Eastern Bypass.

The surrounding garden and ground of the building of the mandir or temple is quite a soul-soothing ambience. Along with such serene and tranquil atmosphere, the mandir consists of wall hanging, paintings, idols and statues of Krishna, Radha etc. Books of various religious and spiritual values are also available here.
