One of the sacred lakes of Sikkim, what drags the interest of the tourists the most is the cleanliness of the lake, although surrounded by rich forest. It is said that the birds, living nearby, do not let any fallen leaf remain in the lake.
This is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim and was established in 1705. The word Pemayangtse literally means ‘perfect sublime lotus’. There is a wooden statue of Guru Rinpoche in the third floor of the monastery. Every year, Cham Dance can be enjoyed during a festival in January-February.
The place with ruins of Rabdentse Palace is a major attraction of Pelling tourism. It is located at 10 minutes’ walking distance from Pelling and you can observe some rare species of orchids on the way. The view of the third highest mountain in the world, Mt Kanchenjunga, looks amazing from here.
This village with 2006 acres of land is one of the most favourite Pelling sightseeing spots, located almost at the top of Kanchenjunga National Park, which is why tourists come here to witness the Himalayan flora and fauna around.Along with that, it is also significant from historical, architectural and religious aspect.This basin-like valley is nicely connected with Gangtok and Geyzing by road.
Near to the Tashiding town, thisis a Buddhist monastery, situated on top of a hill between Rathong and Rangeet rivers.Sightseeing of Pelling is not complete without a visit in this monastery.
